Snow wing story....
Cox Machine has always been known for it's ability to build quality
machinery and equipment. Back in the mid seventies, one of our
customers brought in an old snowplow wing and a pile of rusty, bent,
and broken metal off a "big" truck and asked us if we would  cut it down
to a smaller and lighter size  and put it on his 3/4 ton pick up truck. So
we did....... and it was UGLY!   But...it worked unbelievably well.  So
another  customer asked us to build him one from scratch and before
we got that one done, we had orders for more. These not only worked
well, but were light, simple and pretty rugged for what they were. And,
we had more orders.  We then started making patterns and jigs and
paying attention to nesting parts to make them more cost effective. As
time went on, we had a chance to analyze broken and bent parts to
improve and upgrade our product.

Today we build three models of blades. An 8ft. rolled wing, much like
our original one, except with an extra rib, a heaver nose plate, wider
base angle, and offset mounting eyes (to make it raise easier). We also
build a similar blade with a poly face, as well as a 9ft. steel blade that is
bent (broken) instead of rolled. All are the same price and of similar
weight.

A new headgear assembly made of box tubing is available. It is neat and
professional looking and extremely rugged.

The wing blade is raised hydraulically on the front and rear by two
cylinders. These may be powered by a small electric/hyd unit, a PTO
pump, or a central hydraulic system.
